1. For my first independent component I can audit my first interviewee's class. She teaches about the brain and how injury affects it. I'm not sure if this will be beneficial to me though. Or I can read a book by an expert. Or I can watch a string of documentaries/movies. As of right now, I'd rather do the class or the movies.
2. The class would fulfill my 30 hour requirement because each class is at least one to two hours long meeting consistently during the week. The book may fill my 30 hours depending on how big it, how long it takes me, and if I do something in addition to it. The string of documents/movies will fulfill the 30 hours depending on how many and how long each one is.
3. My independent study component will help me to shape and define my working EQ better. As of right now, I'm not really sure of what my EQ should be about. The best I have now is: What is the most important thing to remember as a psychiatrist? I already have a potential answer from my mentor, but I'm not sure how this component would fit into the question. That is why maybe it will help me to go in a new direction with the question while being able to keep the same base inquiry.
