For my service learning, I'm going to take part in a musical training for autistic children. It begins January 9, 2013. The meetings are Wednesdays from 5:45-7:00pm.
Basically what happens is the volunteers and staff work with the children to create a play. The kids come up with the theme and have input on the script and what not. I believe the main goal of this project is to get the kids out of their comfort zones and improve on their abilities to be social.
The actual play will take place on May 4, 2013. (If you didn't catch that, it's the same day as prom...so I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do.
